Telecommunications Engineer -
- Broadband (video, data & voice) network design, planning, plans &
specifications, acceptance tests, and trouble-shooting.
- Adapt latest fiber optic, wireline, wireless and IP technology to
challenging rural environments and follow through to completion.
- Build relationships with new and long term clients.
- Professional but informal work environment.
- Must have excellent communication and project management skills.
- Must have or be on track to obtain Professional Engineering (PE)
registration, must have passed Fundamentals Examination (FE) or pass
within one year of start of employment.
- ABET accredited BSEE (Electrical or Electronics) preferred.
- IP Internetworking experience and credentials a plus, strong
Internetworking experience and credentials may be considered in lieu of
FE/PE path.
- This job is located in Columbus, Nebraska...great recreation, great
schools, a great place to raise a family, 80 minutes from Omaha, 75
minutes from Lincoln, Nebraska. Some travel required.
Telecommunications Resident
Engineer/Staker/Tester -
- Responsible for all on-site engineering activities for
Fiber-to-the-Home and Fiber-to-the-Node projects, supervise Construction
Observers, daily logs, weekly progress reports and final documents;
select construction corridors for new construction, prepare construction
sheets, assist with tabulation and preparation of plans &
specifications, assist with preparation of permit applications.
- Must have: valid driver's license and good driving record, 5 to 10
years of telecommunications, engineering or construction management
related experience; drafting training helpful, must be able to print
legibly, think on your feet, and enjoy outdoor work.
- Projects are located in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. Travel or
relocation required.
- Full-time (with fringe benefits) and project-by-project positions
available.
Telecommunications Construction Observer/Staker/Tester -
- Observe Fiber-to-the-Home construction for conformance to plans and specifications,
record units placed for contractor compensation, review OTDR and source-detector test
results, assist with running tabulation, weekly progress reports and final documents;
select construction corridors for new construction, prepare construction sheets, assist
with tabulation and preparation of plans & specifications, assist with preparation of
permit applications.
- Inspect customer premises prior to Fiber-to-the-Home installation to
determine optimal location of ONT. Spanish language helpful.
- Opportunity for advancement to Resident Project Representative and other
positions.
- Must have: valid driver's license and good driving record, 1 year of telecommunications,
engineering or construction management related education or related experience; 3 to 5
years of specific experience preferred, drafting training helpful, must be able to print
legibly, think on your feet, enjoy outdoor work.
- Projects are located in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. Travel or
relocation required.

Coop/Intern Telecommunications Construction
Observer/Staker/Tester -
- Observe Fiber-to-the-Home construction for conformance to plans and specifications,

sheets to document changes, test cable for shield integrity, review contractor OTDR and
source-detector test results, assist with running tabulation, weekly progress reports and
final documents.
- Inspect customer premises prior to Fiber-to-the-Home installation to
determine optimal location of ONT. Spanish language helpful.
- Both 6 month and 3 month opportunities are available. Learn valuable
telecommunications engineering and construction management skills.
- Must have: valid driver's license and good driving record, 1 year of telecommunications,
engineering or construction management related education or related experience; drafting
training helpful, must be able to print legibly, think on your feet, enjoy outdoor work.
- Projects are located in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. Travel or
relocation required.
Engineering Technician/Drafter
- Proficient in using AutoCadd Software with an emphasis on GPS/GIS
data manipulation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; i.e. Excel and Access
- Survey or Electrical background a plus.
- Individual will work closely with electrical planning engineer in
regard to GPS and GIS mapping, which could include some field work.
- A combination of office and field work, including some overnight
travel is required.
